What this changes in your file
Rotation is a metadata change, not a re-render: pdf-lib sets each selected page's `/Rotate` entry directly in this tab, which tells any PDF viewer to display that page turned by 90°, 180°, or 270° without touching the underlying content stream. Nothing is rasterized, so text stays selectable and images keep their original resolution. The updated document is written to memory and handed to your browser's download prompt, with no upload involved at any point.
Limits and edge cases
- This changes how a page displays, not the pixel or text content underneath — a scan that's genuinely upside-down in its source images (not just its rotation flag) will still rotate correctly, since viewers respect the flag either way.
- A password-protected PDF needs to be unlocked first, since setting a page's rotation requires opening the document directly.
- Rotating very large scanned PDFs (hundreds of high-resolution pages) is limited by your device's memory rather than by a cap we impose, since the whole file is held in your browser tab.
- Rotation is applied per page you select — there's no batch "rotate every third page" shortcut, so an alternating-orientation scan needs its odd or even pages selected by hand.
