Compress PDF to 100KB
Drop your file and the tool re-encodes it until it fits under 100 KB, in this tab, with no upload. If 100 KB is out of reach, it tells you the smallest size it reached.
Your file never leaves your device.

When you need 100 KB
This is one of the tightest limits in common use. It tends to come from government and exam application forms, job boards and older public sector portals, usually for a single scanned page or a photo of an ID.
The number was usually set when storage cost more, and nobody revisits it. That is why a phone photo of a page, at three or four megabytes, feels like an impossible fit.
A job portal caps the CV upload at 100 KB, and your scanned reference letter is 1.8 MB. Setting the target to 100 KB shrinks the scan until it fits, and shows you the final size before you download.
What gets sacrificed at 100 KB
To fit 100 KB the tool shrinks every page to a small picture. In our test, a one-page phone photo of a document came out at 96 KB and its text was still clearly readable. A five-page grey scan came out at 99.9 KB with its pages reduced to roughly 41 dpi, and the small print was smudged.
The text is not selectable afterwards, because each page becomes an image. Keep the original if you may need to copy or search it, and look at the result at full size before you submit it.
If it will not reach 100 KB
Too many pages. Ten scanned pages under 100 KB means 10 KB each. In our test a 20-page scan stopped at 185 KB. Keep only the pages the form needs with Extract PDF Pages, or split the file.
A text document. A PDF that is mostly text can come out larger, not smaller, because every page becomes an image. In our test a 100-page text contract of 452 KB would have come out at 1.4 MB. When that happens the tool does not download the larger file and keeps your original, which is already the smaller one.
A photo rather than a scan. A phone photo of a page carries far more detail than the page holds. Cropping away the desk, or photographing the page at a lower resolution, does more than any compressor.
How to check nothing is uploaded (100 KB)
Open your browser developer tools, switch to the Network tab, then drop a file and compress it. No request carries the document. The full method is in how to tell if a PDF tool uploads your file.
Limits (100 KB)
- Every page is re-rendered as an image, so text is no longer selectable or searchable.
- A mostly-text PDF may not reach 100 KB; the tool reports the smallest usable size instead.
- Very large scans can take a few extra seconds while the tool searches for the right quality.
