How to reorder pdf pages in your browser
1Drop the PDF
Drop one PDF onto the upload area. The tool renders a thumbnail for every page and lists them in a grid, each labelled with its original page number.
2Drag pages into place
Pick up a thumbnail and drag it toward its new spot. A blank placeholder opens where the page will land, and the neighbouring thumbnails slide aside. Release to drop it, and repeat for any other page.

Save the order
Check the grid from top-left to bottom-right, since that reading order becomes the page order of the new file. Use "Change file" if you loaded the wrong document.

Click "Save New Order". The file downloads as your original name with "-reordered" added, for example contract-reordered.pdf.
A real use case
A lawyer's assistant receives a signed agreement as one PDF, but the scanner pulled the signature page in first and the exhibits are out of sequence. Instead of asking for a re-scan, she loads the file, drags the signature page to the end and swaps exhibits B and C, then saves. The result is a tidy copy to file, and the original is untouched on disk.
Why edit with Reorder Pages in your browser?
- You see every page at once, so you can spot the misplaced one by its content instead of guessing at page numbers.
- Pages are copied whole into a new document, so text stays selectable and images are not recompressed.
- The thumbnails keep their original numbers while you move them, which makes it easy to confirm that page 9 really ended up after page 2.
- Nothing is uploaded, no account is needed, and the output carries no watermark.
What this changes in your file
The page reads your file in the browser tab. It renders thumbnails with pdf.js, then on save loads the PDF with pdf-lib, copies the pages into a fresh document in the order shown, and offers the result as a download. The bytes never leave your device, and you can confirm that by opening the Network tab in your browser's developer tools and watching for outgoing requests while you save.
Limits and edge cases
- Only the order changes. Every page is kept exactly once, so this tool cannot delete or duplicate pages.
- Page numbers printed on the pages are part of the page content and are not renumbered.
- There is no undo or reset button. To start over, choose "Change file" and load the document again.
- An encrypted PDF fails at the thumbnail step with a message that it may be corrupted or encrypted, so remove the password first.
- Every thumbnail is rendered up front, so a very long document takes a while to appear and uses more memory.
- Reordering relies on the browser's native drag and drop, so a device or browser that does not support dragging elements will not be able to move pages.
Before you reorder PDF pages: pick the right tool for the problem
Dragging is the right answer when every page you need is already in the file and only the sequence is wrong. Many order problems are really something else, so check this list first.
- One page is unwanted. This tool keeps every page, so remove it first with Delete PDF Pages, then arrange the rest.
- A page is sideways or upside down. Moving it will not fix that. Turn it with Rotate PDF before or after you reorder.
- The pages live in two files. Join them with Merge PDF, then open the combined file here, since this page takes a single document.
- The page numbers look wrong afterwards. Numbers already printed on a page travel with it. Once the order is final, stamp fresh numbers with Add Page Numbers.
